The new fishfinder was delivered today....

I made a transducer mount for it, as i dont fancy drilling holes in the hull, so i mounted it on the swim platform..

The problem is...the transducer cable is too short, so i need to get an extension....just my luck...

But i hope to have it up and running for the weekend, if i dont get an extension in time it will be getting plastercined onto the hull under the deck to shoot through, it wont give downscan images but will be better than the Raymarine....

Looks a decent screen size :)

Knew you wouldn't hang about fitting it.

The mount on the platform looks sturdy and tidy.

Your fault now if its rough at the weekend:D

The stem was bought at a car boot sale, its a strengthening bar that was fitted to one of those fresh water fishing seats, i think they are called Octopus Legs got it for a fiver...stainless wing screws and nuts and bolts off ebay....the black plastic blocks are wear bars i think, got them given off a lad in the marina...so a bit of allsorts really...:)

Just hope it works and is far enough away from the prop wash at higher speeds...

Nice 1 get some pic's up for the detail when over the wreck, i be interested to see how more advanced it is to the 5xHDI that i have.

I've just fitted the elite 4 x dsi to mine and also manufactured a temp bracket to see if it worked. Also struggled with cable length. But managed to fit it. I tried it out today and it worked fine and was clear upto 12mph. If you get an extension could you let me know where from as I could do with one to tidy up the job.

I've got another pole and knurled top if anyone wants it to make a set up....also some black plastic to make the mounts...

I called Hudson Marine who i bought the unit off, they said they had never sold one before, but they had one in stock and its coming tomorrow :)

Really good company to deal with, cant recommend them enough...:)
