will not power on do any of you know where i can get it checked out in uk

Give jk max navigation a ring. He gave me the number of lowrance uk repair shop who talked me through a full system reboot by holding down combinations of buttons. (it didnt work BTW) but they tried.

I assume you have checked the obvious that power is getting to it in the first place

Also check the pins in the plug because if they get sea water on them when powered up they disolve due to electrolosis. ie when the unit is unplugged for storage but power is left on the lead. It only takes a few hours for the negative to completely disappear.
