Just to change things from the usual when is roker open, mackeral bashing and how sandeels can you fit up your arse.....

How big a effect do you think the stages of the moon has on the fish feeding?!.

Obviously tides and winds has a massive effect.... do you think the moon does as well? and is so... does a full moon fish better than a small moon?!

Over to you......

Jimmy the moonlight great song George :);)

the moon is the tides really, so obviously does have an effect in fish feeding,,,
there's other factors like bright moonlit mights where some suggest that has an effect on catches too (less) but i'm not sure on that myself.

Full moon big tides, more tidal movement… so yes it does have an effect!
Funnily enough I fished at St. Abbs the week before the "super moon" which meant very small tidal movement and only managed 7 Mackerel and 1 3 inch Pollock all week.
The anglers on the boats were struggling to catch as well at that time!
The week after I was there I heard reports of plenty of Pollock etc. being caught in the same areas I had been fishing.
Just my luck!!!

Solunar theory

Solunar theory

Try googling "solunar theory". It claims to have established a link between fish activity, the sun and the moon. A bit like Russell Grant's guide to fishing:)

There is probably something to it, but weather, tides etc seem to be much more important...

Aye, it's a recognised theory for hunting and fishing. Try this site

2014 Tide Table for Sunderland, England for fishing <º(((><

I've tested it loads of times, and found that it's actually.....a load of ****e! that might just be my fishing skills though!

A full moon has a marked effect on my own fishing catches.
Mainly cos I don't go out then for fear of the werewolves.......
