Has anyone had any success around our coastline using lures ,surface poppers etc ,I just got a new rod and some lures gonna try them at Eyemouth, as soon as I get some bloody time off work that is.
Hi Steve, we had a good bit crack about this a few weeks ago mate. I have just bought myself a Ron Thompson Bass rod for that reason. I will definately be giving it a go around the Craster and Cullernose area as there are some deep water marks around there.
Got myself an Abu spinning outfit so was thinking of the same area as you ,got three free lures too although not sure how successful they will prove to be ..... still ,nothing ventured etc!!!
Lol@ Jim & Steve.......I know the boat lads won\'t appreciate it, but I\'m hoping for a good bit surf over the Easter weekend - I really need to get out with me RT Titanium Sea Bass rod which my wife got me for Chrimbo. I\'ve had a few \"practice\" chucks with it - time to use it properly, now (I hope)....lol
apart from mackeral season, the only time i\'ve had any luck was when the power station (blyth) hot water outfall was running - took bass off there on spinners, redgills and other lures.
I\'ve had a few chucks with a spinner from seaton sluice rocks when i\'ve been wandering, but never had a sniff.
The water close in is still not that clear and the 20mph north winds will have made it worse not point in lure fishing really unless you hit them on the head, give it till the end of this month if the weather stays fine.I have caught many fish on lures from the shore the last week in april from rock marks and piers.
