Had a club rover comp on Tuesday night so ended up on Lynemouth beach with my 14 year old son, most other folk headed for the Blyth area, conditions wer pretty crap as most will know, but as you wont catch jack if your gear isn't in the water! Anyway didn't expect a great deal to say the least but first chuck and my son managed a sizeable eel, second chuck he missed a good knock and third chuck he connected with something half decent and low and behold he beached a 4lb 7oz Codling much to my joy and definetly his! Was over the moon, his first Coddy this season and together with his eel he had best bag of the night at 5lb 6oz and heaviest fish to boot! Not a lot else returned to the scales : Whitings/flats, but chuffed Adam caught, made my night as well as his, just got to get him collecting more bait nowadays and teach him how to pendullum without killing me!

Aye very well done to Adam. I am much the same as Ian, I used to fish up Lynemouth quite a bit and never had any really good fish. I saw one or two but I think my best would be 3 1/2 lb from there. Nice one Mick.

many congrats on ya catch adam:o, yep it was hard going alright. i fished from 10am till 10mins to five in the pm and suffered the indignity of going without even a knock:D me pal landed about lunchtime and managed a rockling about 3 bells. he stayed till 6 30ish without another touch. we fished just the south side of the burn (crosswaters?) well done again on the fishy
