me & a few pals were down there tonight, just spinning & daylights, nothing doing, im going down tomorrow night bait fishing to see if anything get's hooked ! you are more than welcome to join us for a session over high water if you wish !

no thanks going down fishing in the wansbeck
How did you get on at the wansbeck ? Lynemouth was pant's, fished the beach for the fist two hours of the ebb, nothing doing, then moved onto the pipe, just small flattys every cast, nothing worth keeping, but a pleasent night, fished from 6.00 pm until 10pm.

Head north on the A19 after the Tyne Tunnel take the A189 past Blyth. Follow signs for Woodhorn until you come in to Lynemouth. Bear right at the mini roundabout and just after the bridge you can park at the side of the road. Walk across the grass to the beach.
A steep shelving beach that gives way to deep water fairly close in. Its a great venue to produce fish almost all year at any state of the tide. Most anglers prefer to fish it on an ebbing tide and over low water, especially after a blow in a dying sea. It fishes equally well in daylight as in darkness because the water is coloured form years of coal waste tipping. This venue is recognised as a Cod venue from September through to February with the chance of some big bags. Dropping a bait close can produce odd Bass. Summer produces good catches of flatfish including Plaice, Dabs and flounders, while late spring can also throw up the odd Thornback ray. Cast at long range during a big swell to avoid a rig wash out, but generally anything in excess of 60 yards will put you among the fish.
