Mackerel / pollock ??

Me and a friend are looking to get along one of the piers tonight along tynemouth or blyth just for something to do. We have loads of feathers and spinners left from last time. What would be the best thing to use and what could we catch ?? I've been told mackerel are in. Maybe pollock, collies ? Anybody been there recently ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

was on tynemouth sunday night mate got about 12 yts on bait lads nxt to me on end had 6 coalies upto about 2lb on daylights

was on the pier last night took couple codling to 1.5lb few whiting and dabs and a load of mackeral. should be good tonight to give it a go with flat seas and the water is clear.
