Hi matey was out on the yak nearly three weeks ago and paddled out from marsden beach after bouncing it down the steps! was like a mill pond so went past the ******** thats got the gill nets out there went about 2 mile off and could see gannets diving in after the macrel,so they are here but still a few mile off was surrounded by porpoises out there aswell.

too true alan i was on blyth pier today and not a chav in sight. Think this will be the last time tho cos i think the maccy will be in very soon. Maybes after this north easterly(fingers crossed). Just hope the chavs dont get onto it too soon tho ha ha

sssshhhh don't tell anybody the chava's will be out of their cages and down to the piers

no way can you keep it a secret, one or two have been sneaking down shields pier the last few weeks, in fact last thursday 2 lads stopped and ask me where the best place for the maki because somewhere on google had said the maki are in, and when i told them possibly 3,,,,, 4 weeks, walked away in disbelief

as soon as they make a show the word seems to go around like wild fire and the flood gates open on chav city! dont you just love fishing in the summer!:D

too late ...i have bought feathers trekkies and cider.......and i hav also removed my shockleader ....
pmsl if ya cant beat em join em i guess ..... Not for me tho mate ha ha . When there in it'll be early morn or late on for me when theyre all tucked up in bed in whatever drunken or drug fuelled state theyre in pmsl

only jokin ye nar.....i love my mackerel fishing as much as i love winter codding and my undisclosed blanking for bass fishing...i always use shockleader where appropriate....yes the chavs can be a massive pain in the rear ...just dont understand why they macky bash? do they eat them ? sell them ? i only ever leave with what i need ....4 at the most ....ok maybe five ....then i change tactic if i wanna keep fishing ...but why for the love or god would one of these chavs wanna maccy bash in the summr if they dont do the cod hunt in the winter.....its like football fans playing rugby league because the football is not on .....?

2 weeks for ok numbers from the boats and about 4 weeks from the shore based on past years but every so many years they turn up very late...who knows but one thing is for sure it wont be long.

every year i look forward to them coming in and after a couple of weeks i curse them for struggling to get through them to the cod and ling!cant whack the sport though on light gear though ritchie:)

Yer same here, love when they come in and after a week or two its a pain once you have 10-12 for a days fishing bait.

Had to purchase some for the skate trip up Scotland, it was about £2 a kilo

Great sport either on the boat or shore would rather fish for them from the shore though
