was down at 4.30am again.
straight into fish on the spinner, lost the first 2 ended up with 4 macky and a few launce in the bag. lost a few when lifting them up :(
had a canny coalie as well.

there was a guy who pulled in a canny codling on bait.

session wasnt as productive as tuesday morning, but the fish went off after an hr and a half.

bit of a chilly wind :(

im away offshore tomorrow for a few weeks, so that will be the end of my macky season lol
short but sweet.

i might pop along for an hour or so tonight, could do with a few more.
sick of buying bait and spending a fortune over the winter.
im turning into a right tight git! lol

Yes mate - got to prioritize use of the freezer:

1st - as many crab as possible
2nd - a good few bundles of blacks
3rd - mackerel (& a few blueys)
4th - mussel
5th - a brick or two of them party squid (& maybe a few razor)
6th - Food - maybe 1 bag of frozen peas & that's it!

Then hopefully as the bait is used up there's room for a few fillets of codling:D

Gary :)

lol
the top drawer is full of crab, razzor and black lug
bottom drawer is full of macky fillets now.
still need more crab and i will try and get out for some big razor before the season starts ;D

going to have a big push to collect as much bait as possible myself for comps etc
me and my mate have been doing really well.
just hope it gets put to some good use in an open ;D

at blyth pier? was that when the big container ship came in?
i left just as it was passing and heard some thuds, the thing was close to the end of the pier lol

my lass has no choice in the matter, she dosnt mind what goes in the freezer as long as its not stinking lol

as for the going fishing early in the morn, she didnt even notice that i had been sneaking out for 3-4hrs lol

sean, i was thinking of getting a fridge and freezer to put in the shed when i get it, but i read your post about the misshap.

i wouldnt be able to cope if that happend, it would be 1million - 1 odds on to hapen to me as well lol

will stick with the combi fridge/freezer in the kitchen for now lol

I must have been fishing next to you as it was me that had the codling lol. No macky though which was the main thing i was going for!! Should have got up when i planned and been on the end as there were loads of fish coming in from there! Had a 2nd codling just after but got my rig snagged right near the bottom of the pier and had no rotten bottom on!

Foreign bloke on the end had loads of mackreal and gave them away....i got 5 of them all a good size too!! He said it is fishing best for 30 mins 1st thing then going very quiet.

yep, i was just along from you, i had the washed out navy titan smock on.
big carp rod and a wee baitcaster rod lol
i thourght i had say your face somewhere before when i passed, you were just taking a pic of the codling on your fish rule.

i have only been twice this season and done canny well.

the end is not what its cracked out to be, i cant be arsed with all the peeps barging on and casting over you, getting your line and all of the trebles wizzing about! haha
already had a spinner as a lug ring once, that was painful enough, dont want to go down that route again.

you stay there for long?

defo best at first light for a couple of hours. i was straight into fish, lost more than i got :(

i noticed that there is a snaggy bit just in front of where we were. i kept on bringing in weed the other day and lost a spinner.

i found most of the macky are down really deep, just let the spinner touch the bottom and start bringing it in.
even had a few on the drop today lol

Used to have a fridge in the shed but it seemed to wack the lecky bills up.
Might see if i can get a small freezer, keep it full and it shouldn't be to bad
