my awld mans after a new macky rod for the summer. can any one recommend a decent rod and reel for the job online without breaking the bank or ill just get one in the tackle shop thanks.

Just get a cheap carp rod it'll do you for loads of summer fishing , macky , float , flatties and plugging

Ive just got a Fladen Xtra Flexx Bass-Predator, cheap but bomb proof, used it for the whitting, and flatty bashing

Get a shakey mate, Lewis's has a good stock in, I got a one for 20 odd notes and it seams spot on.

Try thr fishing republic in sunderland I got a 9ft. Spinning rod for £10, they have a load of cheap fixed spool reels as well.

You can honestly use anything for maccys mate.... depends what kind of fishing your wanting to do. I have had great fun with carp / flattie rods and a few of the smaller lure fishing rods are great for spinners! Just dont attach them onto a set of 1308430 daylights
