macky !!!!!!!

No reports as far as i can see If they were in we would know about it;)maybe when every one is out this weekend there might be some reports on catching them.

I have spent a while reading reports on WSF from all over the UK and the story is the same i.e little to no mackerel ANYWHERE, all area forums having the same threads blaming water temp, trawlers etc.

Well my guess of them being in on the 6th of June is well out the window, just the odd few around....hope they in when i get back from Norway.

We were off on a Charter boat out of Amble yesterday and there there was only about 8 macky caught all day by 11 angles not anywhere in numbers yet i dont think. Good bags of Cod and Ling though.

Which is why they aren't in...they come in with the warm weather, but we haven't had that much warm weather to trigger them to spawn.

They will be here when the water has warmed up not the weather
If you look for them you will catch them we had a dozen or so from the shore on Thursday

I was fishing yesterday on a boat off Amble and when we launched the boat in my waiders I thought they were leaking cos the water was that cold so in my opinion it will be a good few weeks yet

not heard anything myself paul mate just the roumor off the odd one I aint even been out myself this season yet normally had my first try for them end of may lol

hi dizzy yeh I remember last may when we where hammering them on the end of the heugh
on another note, the only reason the macky come close into shore is not the weather or the water temp rising it's because the bait fish come close inshore ie sand eels and sprats, if they stay offshore so do the macky, their food source is the reason we can catch them close in, not climatic conditions.
