Out of the Royal Quays in bright sunshine and the sea as flat as the wifes chest. Headed towards the can and a good fried breakfast cooked by Dave the skipper. Very quiet ,not even a nibble. Tried the anchor point and zilch.It wasnt till late afternoon when we got closer to the tyne piers that we hit whiting one after the other . Within an hour 14 whitties and a real cracker of a whittie that slipped the hook before i could land it.

Returned 10 and took 4 home for our tea tomorrow.

All in all a good relaxing day out with fish at the end of the day.

Hope to get out friday armed with a camera.

Good to see a boat report at last, shame not more cod on it but still only Feb

the cod wont be long and then the ling from the wrecks roll on the spring/summer
