making crab cart

hi david, they should work, but do look slighly watery and will probably wash out alot quicker when you prick them., ( means winding in more often and changing your bait) looks like you may have blitzd it all up ?

what i do is, get them straight out the sea out of our pots or nets ( hens do work best because they carry the red coral and cocks dont , i have caught on cocks before though) this time of year the hens are chocker with coral.

bring them home, pull the poket and dead mans out, then scrape the full lot of the meat out of the backs, and straight into a tub, when i have done all the crabs, and my meat is in a big tub, i drain all of the excess water off, and now im left with pure goodness.

i tend to use fox arma mesh ( this is more expensive than other methods i no but its just i like the presentation this way and it lasts ok on the hook) i make individual sausage shapes in the sizes i desire , when they are all done, i then wrap each individual parcel with tin foil . this full process from geting them out of the sea and into my freezer only takes a couple of hours, this way i no my bait is the freshest it can possibly be before being frozen

i take a number fishing with me frozen in my flask, i whip them on frozen and i get about 20mins or so before its about washed out(different if cocktailed with other baits) and i change my bait.

ive heard of plenty of other ways to wrap the cart, finger bandage, sausage skins, cling film etc etc.

good luck, it can be deadly on its day.
