Fished marsden beach today and one of the small coves along the leas to try and get some shelter it proved a waste of time as the rod was bouncing around due to the wind and it was impossible to hold bottom, the weed was a nightmare as well

Can decent fish be caught from there mate? Just getting back into it and was curious (in front of grotto type area). If so in your experience what tide does it fish best on?

There's a few different marks around the bay but if your fishing in front of the grotto I've fished it on the flood and with the the tide out and still had fish but I prefer to fish the flood if I have the choice and its like any where you can can get decent fish, its always a place to think about with a strong westerly as the cliffs give you shelter

Why wait a month? There's plenty of cod (and some decent quality ones) to be caught right now

my season starts tomorrow,soon as that wind drops,beaches seem to be fishing well,tight lines boys and be safe

I'm on the sick lads, problem with tendons in my shoulder and I won't be able to cast lol. Hopefully try get out end if the month fingers crossed lol
