Fished the same area today in the shields match. Perfect for cod. Not a sniff. Seams the pier fished well though.

I was there last night for 2hrs down and 1 up, fishing in front of the grotto, my mate got a bite, but it pulled right round the back of marsden rock, snagged up and the line snapped out. I had one rattle but didnt get anything. We gave up and went down to the rathouse for a bit but blanked there.
