Have to go to Maryport on Sunday. Will be there with nothing to do between about 11am and 5pm. 1549 Low 2.0 . Anybody know anything about fishing that area? Is it worth taking a rod?

Yes mate it is worth it.
take a bucket of worms rod and reel and then your sorted.
plaenty of flounder,codling, whiting the times i have been there and the odd doggy.
