There has been some recent discussion between Paul Fenech (matchman) and many other NESA members. Whilst some of this was fair comment from both sides, other posts did let the board down somewhat and the threads have been removed.

I was away at the time and would like to thank the NESA moderating team who, yet again, did a fantastic job and are the sole reason this board is able to function so freely.

I have spoken to Paul Fenech today and can honestly say that he came across as a genuine, level-headed, decent guy. He pointed out that the original discussion started elsewhere (on Facebook) and it does appear to me that some of the original meaning of it was lost during its journey to this forum.

That said, we both agreed that it would be best if his account and posts on NESA were removed.

He has not been banned and no blame has been apportioned whatsoever. This was, very much, a professional decision between the pair of us; we both try to do what we can to promote angling and this seems the best thing to do.

I wish Paul well and look forward to continuing to read his articles in Sea Angler magazine, as well as bumping into him on sites such as Facebook, where it appears we share a number of friends.

As far as NESA is concerned, this is the end of the subject. Paul is no longer on the board to answer any questions aimed at him, so it would be unfair to do so. Please help myself and the moderators by not starting any new threads on the subject.

Thank you.
