Maybe a dumb question but...

...Can you get Mackerel from the rocks at St. Marys? Want to get some stocked up for the winter but really don't fancy the piers unless I really have to!

from what iv'e heard you can get em off seaton sluice rocks, or whitley pipe sometimes. if you just wanna get stocked up for bait just get on the pier but go super early and you will probably have enough makky to take home before all the divvys get on.

Never tried my self but supposebly you get them off lynemouth beach, so a was thinking the beacons maybe worth it with that deep water at your feet

SS pier wasn't as bad as I was expecting when I went Wednesday night from 5:30pm to about 8ish, managed 10 decent sized mackerel between 2 of us (8 for me, 2 for my brother ;) ) even got my first 5 on one line!

I got 3 mackerel on a Toby lure fishing at st Mary's over high water on Tuesday morning. Had a couple of decent wrasse on float fished rag worm too

Definitely going to give it a try on sunday then - the bairn is coming with me to practice his casting - hopefully he will have a chance of catching something as well :)
