Just got the news that Mick McArthy has been sacked at Sunderland. I still say Murry should shoulder a lot of the blame as he has never invested anything into the club for a long time.He should get out.

Newcastle fan myself but Mick is a excellent manager and was too honest for Murray,I really hope he finds another club,Suderland fans deserve better.

i sent a txt to radio newcastle today and he read it out
murray should walk away
i hope mick mcarthy gets another job and proves he is a good manager

I\'ve defended Mick in the past, but you have to look at his signings.

1. Kelvin Davis - clown, way behind Myre, Poom and even Alnwick
2. Miller - game just passes him by
3. Stead - not exactly prolific = 0

Sunderland will only get worse with Murray in charge.

toon fan myself, and i think its terrible, mick is a great mananger its murray who needs to go, and reidy has aleady f**ked safc and got them into alot of debt

Fair comment Keith, he made some bad signings, especially Davis, although judging by his performances for Ipswich before he joined us, he\'s very much a confidence player. How can you feel confident in front of a back 4 that contains a centre half who thinks he\'s in the harlem Globetrotters!

IMO this all lies squarely at the feet of Murray. Here\'s a chairman who spends 3 months of the year in the UK - excellent support that, hands on and all that. This is the man who uttered those now infamous word\'s \"the day Peter Reid leaves this club, so will I\".

The clubs a mess. Unfortunately, until someone buys Murray out, I can\'t see any change. He\'ll just sit in his little tax haven, checking that the books are ok, maybe watch a match now and again cos his supply of Greggs stotties have ran out, and generally install confidence in everyone involved at the club.

He now has a chance to actually get the fans back on his side funnily enough, but it depends on who he appoints. All this talk of O\'Neill is, for me, way off the mark, but don\'t ask me who I think should take over cos I haven\'t a clue! One thing for sure is they\'ll not need to have a UEFA coaching badge, as all premiership managers have to have! ;)

Don\'t think they\'ll be queuing up for the job but whoever does take the job has got nowt to loose. Any sort of improvement and he\'ll be a hero.
At present the only good thing sunderland have got is the supporters - crap team and even worse chairman.
I\'m black & white but have to say I do feel sorry for the S\'land supporters this season. You\'re going down this season no doubt about it and unless Murray puts some decent cash at the managers disposal during close season you\'ll not be back in the Premiership for a few years. Breath of fresh air is required, not at player or manager level but at the very top but can\'t see much chance of that happening, well not until Murray is requiring Mark\'s services for a box..

sad but inevitable. sad for north east football, but can\'t see it getting better.

Mick Mac\' knows the game but you can\'t make silk purse out of a sows ear.

I doubt very much that murray will get the message, and listening to Mick Mac\' on the radio, I reckon he\'s just been waiting for the inevitable for a good few weeks if not months now.

be nice to think they could do the mission immpossible and avoid the drop but I doubt it

Sack your manager after being defeated by Man City, put a caretaker in charge and enjoy a run of 6 matches unbeaten. \"Sound familiar\"??

It\'s working for NUFC because we had quality players that were miss-managed wheras SAFC had a good manager with nothing to manage

Rocket Science :

Good manager + £££££££££ = Good players = Success

Good manager + 00000000000 = Crap players = Faliure
