not sure where to fish yesterday so stood at club hut wondering where to fish as there was a chilly NE breeze, then felt a bit rain so that decided it for me the walkway for me with me brolly
anyway, set the brolly up and put up me rod up fishing was non existant till bottom water then the whitis and colis showed up, from bottom water nowt really of size , maybe 1 or 2 borderline rest definatly under ,big fred turned up had a bit chat a n he noticed little knock on tip , picked the rod up but nowt, so rested rod down went and let the little knocks till I thought the little bugger had hung it sell , well there was weight from the start, and a canny lobster came to surface the head was was huge 11cent long the and tail was fairly short but wide so kept for tea tonight yum yum
still would have preferred a 3lb coddy

Similar thing happened to me on Seaham south pier. Nowt doing til the rod nods a few times, then nowt, then nod nod nod, so I haul it in to find a small Coley on the hook with a canny lobster all wrapped up in some line that wasn't mine. I assume the lobster was after the Coley & coincidentally got caught up?

Anyway, my missus wasn't happy next morning after she came in from nightshift & looked in the fridge!

Lobster gone now it was delicious

PS Gordon have amended previous post nothing meant at all just a plain swap lobster for cod
