Was walking along the pier in sunderland loads of people fishing , loads of young kids families etc walking , so when i passed on particular individual right in front of me flung old line and aload of packaging across my path i just looked at him and said u gonna pick that up to which his reply was f*** off in front of my young kid and a few families too , so to that lad thanks alot , and you wonder why us anglers get a rough going some places , surely it dont take much to take your litter home !!

its people like that that give the decent responsible anglers a bad name with the public, councils etc etc, you should have thrown him over the handrail mate, cant stand ignorant lazy people like that

Unfortunately it's behaviour like this that people remember and associate with sea anglers. Rubbish, urinating everywhere and swearing at the top of their voices. Complete morons that spoil it for the rest of us.

This is something that come up over and over even more so in the summer. Roker seams to be one of those places that draws most attension

Sorry to hear about these a...holes,but it seems to be the way these days.If you say anything them then you get a load of abuse or worse! Im a big lad and would be dubious about approaching these tossers as they are the type of people who would not think twice about pulling a knife,as usually they are high or drunk.Anglers will be tarred with the same brush as these idiots because the public only see the negative thing that go on.Maybe there is something to be said for having a sea fishing licence which would be taken away for such behavior although it would be very difficult to enforce.

These so called anglers give us all a bad name but you cant say too much to them because you dont know how they will react . There are to many ready to give you a kicking or worse nowadays. I fished at the football hole on christmas eve before i set up i picked up 2 bags of rubish. They took the bait in bag couldnt be botherd to put their rubbish in the same bag and take it away.

personally i couldnt give a fk, i always have me knife with me, so they can try and do whatever they want, its their funeral

The thing that gets me more than anything is the fact that it's not just these thick t***s that leave litter, I've seen many a good angler leaving crap behind after a session.....

yer ya right there, while fishn an open comp we seen a guy tell the lad next to use if there's no bins about just throw ya rubbish and old line in the sea, and when we got back to the weigh in it was the very same lad doing the weigh in.
you'd av thought he'd av had more sense

One word...TASER! Im a strong believer that most of these morons would benefit from a good blast from a taser gun.
Failing the availability of a taser then some crocodile clips attatched to a car battery and they're nuts!

fishing republic have trolleys on offer, better than carrying the bloody battery along the pier with all ya gear ;):D

They should make a permit to fish the pier it may keep some of the clampets away! Then again it might ****e.

Scumbags the lot ov em that do that.:mad::mad:

Its not hard just cut it up and put it in the bin, obviously there just 'box potato's ' who cannit be arsed to get off there arse and go to the nearest bin...

My rule of thumb is that degrade-able items (fruit skins, paper, etc) can go in the drink when available as it well just degrade quickly and naturally, where as all plastic, metals, fishing line, hooks, etc, are all no no's, and should be put in ya seatbox and bagged up ready for the bin, thats what I do (but most of the time paper will be binned too) :):):)

i always carry carrier bags for any crap i have left over, any hooks i am getting rid of get broken up with my pliers and put into an old "sample bottle" lol, then everyuthing either goes into the nearest bin or back in my box til i get home, then put it in my bin. Andy has the right idea about the bio degradables
