I've notice on a couple of videos and on some adverts people have managed to metal band a zziplex don't know how to go about doing it but would like mine done if I can if anyone has any info on doing it I'd be grateful cheers

Why do you want to add a metal band? These rods are regularly cast over 280 yards without needing a metal band by some of the top field casters in the country. The spigot on a Zziplex doesn't need strengthening, it is already fit for purpose, all adding a metal band will do is add weight to the blank and change the action under load

well said , zziplex spigots are allready reinforced and the best in the business , dont need metal bands

To be honest I don't think century rods need them, they're just a fad/bling.

Yep purely for aesthetics century spigots are also re-enforced.I personally only like them on century rods wouldn't put on a zippy as it then just looks like a century rod with a zippy badge on.But everyone to there own.

No I ment take them of and use the same one again I know your can replace them mate

Yes I've done that many times to.I sometimes only take bottom one off when I'm just replacing the shrink tube I can then put adhesive under the shrink at the bottom next to metal band to stop it moving.

Lou you still have Century on the brain lad, don't mess with perfection!!! If Terry wanted to make them with the metal band he would have. Enjoy your rod how it is, took mine out today seen and felt every nibble, no cod. Casts like a dream very similar to the 427 but with more muscle. :)
