Had an email from Metro radio asking for opinions of North East anglers on the fisheries Talks. So if your from the areas highlghted why not give them a ring

Hi there,

I'm trying to find out about cod fishing in the north east of england, but only in the Newcastle, Sunderland areas - North Shields, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay etc. Would you be able to point me in the direction of some contact numbers for fishermen or fishing groups who I could get in touch with? It's in regards to stories we are running in our news programmes on the European Fishing Ministeries talks that are ongoing at the moment.

Please feel free to contact me on 0191 279 0228

Kind Regards,

Adele Robinson

If you talk to them Id be interested to hear what they ask and what your opinions are - If you wish to share of course.

People should get on the case with this if they haven't already, I don't feel confident enough personally but lets hope others do. It was mentioned in The Daily Mirror's editorial panel today, they sided with the commercials without any evidence or justification I guess they have had lobbyists on the case. Bradshaw seems to be saying the scientists know nish. Money is doing the talking as usual.

Edit - If anyone does contact the journalist give them some info on the economic benefits of recreational sea angling versus the commercials
