say you check everything out ie leader etc before you cast and there is AMPLE room pendulum casting on piers on piers should be as safe on piers as beaches remember i said ample room.

is any type of cast safe it is now been said an overhead cast is dangerous it must be the safest cast out there but not by some.

by overhead i mean 3 or 4ft drop hanging straight down from rod tip and cast it straight overhead if this is dangerous fishing should be banned.

might have nothing to do with club harry ?? might of not of happened in a competition.

is pendulum casting banned from fishing clubs /comps

i,m not a member of a club or fish comps so ??

i love early morning fishing i get away from all this well most times

have you seen m4 on ebay now harry

I still think the club is involved, because its only members can fish the piers
and as such the club enforces the rules and the members are covered by club insurance(included in part of the subs).
If the worst had happened the club and the offender would be liable,so as a near miss it should be investigated so not to be repeated again. This person that did this needs to be spoken to by club officials
Well that's my take on it.

Rules state.............no dangerous casting...... so no pendulum casting is not banned but if any cast is deemed to be dangerous then the club steward can request angler to stop this practice.

Had a look John nothing seen M4.

hi harry you are right but codeye is saying pendulum casting is banned from piers ??
if practised properly like you say it is safe.

m4 is on ebay now looking at it earlier today.

shockleader

shockleader

i'm gob smacked!!!!!!! :o , how can anyone cast without a shockleader when fishing next to other people and then in the next breath say pendulum casting is dangerous! any kind of casting needs a shockleader for safety reasons alone

-maybe this should be displayed on piers and beaches because if you do snap off and hit someone with a lead (using any kind of cast ) and you are not using a shockleader then that person should be done for GBH or worst case manslaughter!

its not just a health and safety issue ITS COMMON SENSE
