the microlite flying lesson i won in the nesa boat comp was used on saturday by my son stephen
the weather did'nt look too good on saturday morning when i phoned the pilot to confirm and he knew the voucher ran out at the end of the month and this was our last opportunity so he said come up anyway and if the weathers not good we'll take a bigger plane
i dont supose he goes on this site but i would like to say a big thank you to the pilot steve and a big thank you to whoever donated the prize
this is the only photo i've got cos my batteries ran out and my son took some persuading to get his photo took with a girlie pink plane i said it was purple he said it was pink
anyway stephen said the pilot handed him the controls as soon as they got in the air and he absolutely loved it he said all the hours spent on microsoft flight simulater were well spent the controls were very similar
so again a big thank you to pilot steve at eshott airfield and nesa for a great prize

cheers homer

Hi Homer

I donated the prize but not taking all the cred cos there's a storey how it came about.

My son in law works on a oil platform in the North sea and he won the ticket (which started as a unwanted gift) in a charity raffle on the rig. It was one of the cancer charities but not sure which one.

Around this time Paul and my daughter had bought their first house and needed some work doing and cos Daddy (me) is a builder, I got the job(s). Then, because I wouldn't take any money from them they offered me the ticket. At the time nesa was asking for donations for the comp and I asked if they'd mind if I donated the ticket cos there is no way anyone will get me in a microlight lol.

So the ticket has benifited two charities, helped to get a young couple into their first house and put a big smile on your son's face.

Amazing, thanks to everybody involved

The pic with the pink/purple fixed wing says it all. I'm so pleased it was a bairn that went up.

PS dont tell him I called him a bairn

Really pleased you got sorted in the end Homer, I bet Stephen had a great day that he will remember for a long time. Well done to everyone involved with the prize.

By the way Homer,I bet my Grandaughter will say that the plane is purple too lol.

Jim.
