had a canny big one few month back from smiths dock was knocking and pulling when bringing it in, put up a cracking fight said to me dad got a good coddy on here turned out it was a 3ft eel. lol

I had a big one like that last year. It was as thick as a baby's leg. I took it home and ate it, bloody delicious !!!

didnt know you could eat them to be honest i just unhooked it and off it went back to the river

I HATE CATCHING EELS BUT SOME OF THE THINGS IVE SEEN PEOPLE DO TO THEM IS SHOCKING, WHY NOT PUT THEM BACK LIKE YOU WOULD A SMALL COD? NO NEED TO KILL THEM FOR NOWT !

try t spend a couple of nights fishing for freshwater eels every summer n they fight like hell had them t 4lb 2oz n even on carp gear they pull harder than any carp iv ever had best way to unhook eels is t lie them on there backs it seems t calm them down n use a sock to hold the eel still by stroking it on its belly to the tail

Hi DARN-C it it wellknown for eels there once you start catching them you cant seem to stop. They are nothing but pests your rigs get up the eyes with their slime and you get it all over your hands too. If i were you i would give there a miss. plenty other good spots to fish rather than there ok regards Jim [Nickname--Grumps]:red::red::red:
