Milan Derby

Don\'t know if you know, but this Champions league tie was abandoned last night due to Inter fans throwing flares, coins and all sorts of stuff down after they had a goal disallowed. During this, the milan keeper was hurt and recieved burns on his shoulder.

As this is UEFA\'s showcase competition, I\'d expect Inter to be banned from european competition for at least a year, BUT, as we all know, bans like that only happen if its an English teams supporters. So, I look forward to seeing Inter recieve the customary UEFA slap on the wrist and a measly fine.

Aye Davy,it happens week in week out in italy.Watch how much bother there will be at the liverpool/juventus game tonight.
But will the Italians ever be barred from european competions like the english clubs were. . . .. . . . . bollocks!

It was the same with the Turkish clubs i.e. Galatasary. How many times have other european clubs been warned about their behaviour and been allowed to get away with it and yet the slightest thing British clubs do are immediately condemned by Old Sepp?
WHat about the racism that is rife in Spanish matches?

I\'ve been \"lucky\" enough to be on the receiving end of Italian football hospitality. I used to watch England and went to the World Cup qualifier with my mates in 1997 in Rome.

We spent the whole game dodging flying objects and were unable to get out of the way as the Police had the exits blocked. The police also seemed to take great pleasure in our discomfort and demonstrated this by laughing at us from behind their padded helmets.

We were also kept behind after the game for 3 hours until they cleared the streets.....yeah right. What this meant was that we were left to walk back to the centre of Rome, (no trains as they had finished for the evening....) at 02:00hrs ish in the morning. It took us some 2 hours to do so after being attacked by gangs of weapon wielding youths most of the way. Not very pretty I can tell you..!!

Needless to say I\'ve never been back to Italy except on business...!!!!!

Take my advice...if your team gets to play in Italy, (unlikely for me as I follow Sunderland) don\'t go...watch it it on Sky. Much more enjoyable.

Jeff.

PS...what made it worse was that our tour company dropped us in it upon arrival. We\'d paid for a hotel that didn\'t exist and we slept rough for 2 nights as all the hotels were full. To cap it all off the entire stay was enjoyed without the joys of alcohol as I had an upset stomach and was throwing up every hour on the hour for 2 days.
