It has been a couple of weeks since we were last aboard Missy and the last couple of trips were superb, so would we do alright again ?

We left the lock about 6 this morning to lovely weather and a nice flat sea, good start.

First drop down I was straight into a nice cod of about 6-7 lb on the red headed shad. Then I managed another drop down on the same drift of the wreck and fetched back up another codling a little smaller this time.

Took the boat around again and dropped down, I thought I had snagged the wreck for a second but no, it was a good fish on and taking line a few times on the way up, turned out to be a nice cod of 15 lb, happy days.

By now my dad had given up on the muppets and rigged a shad up resulting in a nice 9 lb cod almost straight away.

We had a few more nice fish including another cod just over 10 lb, but things started to slow down, so we tried a couple more wrecks getting the odd codling and ling here and their but not as frantic as the first stop.

We did'nt fish the boat competition today as I could only get out for a few hours so we headed in just before dinner after a canny morning out.

Nice ! Seems you just have to hit the right wreck at the right time with the right tactics and that's all there is to it  :D
What a smashing few hours :)

Nice1 still seems to be the better cod comming from your area, think they grow 6lb+ from the ones we are getting up our way.

I not had 1 over 12lb this year yet up here.

Cheers lads, been a good year so far at Hartlepool for us, had some nice quality fish.
Was a few ling starting to turn up yesterday.

Bring on more gentle westerlies along the north east coastline for us all.
