Missy's midweek evening trip.

Headed out of the lock about 6 pm and ventured a couple of miles north to some rough ground.
We had plenty of action with a fish almost every drop, but all were tiddlers.
Never seen as many small pollack about, if they make it a few more years without being scooped up we will have some good sport.

Had countless numbers of small pollack and codling and ling up to 4.5lb, fast and furious action but mainly tiddlers.

We headed back in just after 9 pm happy after a chilled out evening sesh.

Great report as ever, must of been nice to get a bit of midweek action, I see the sunset at sea is just as scenic as the sunrise.

Nice few hours spent there.

They are coalie not pollack but a great fighting fish as well.

Pollack and coalfish are very similar ne1 but they are pollack as u can tell by the curved lateral line and stuck out lower jaw

Nope they are 100% coalie no doubt about it at all, the only one out of your pics that could maybe be a pollack is the one on the deck with the coalie on the left and the other fish under a orange muppet, Apart from that they all coalie.

Small pollack, big curved line, gold in colour, hooked upper jaw and the young ones have gold spots, coalie slight curved back often silver line, grey backs more rounded face with slight over shot jaw and also the fins are diff both top and bottom.

Dont make any dif anyway they all fish and nice to catch.

Yep they look like poodlers, Sh@tpokes, Coalies to me.

Just had a bit google about the little fella's.

Seems to me that the easiest way to tell the difference is that coalies have a white/silver lateral line and pollack have a dark (brown/black) lateral line.

So I was wrong as they have a white lateral line making them coalies.

My thinking last night was that as they had an overshot bottom lip and a curved lateral line made them pollack. Not the case tho as it seems.

I'll not be complaing about catching either of them tho.
