With me being hooked on boat fishing ive decided i need a new reel for next year. there's two i'm looking at. the shimano tld20 and the shimano tyrnos tyr10. what's your views on these two reels and which one would you choose.

I think the TLD20 is overkill for our waters, I'd go with the TLD15 ( I own 4 ) Not sure about the other reel.

seriously though I think the TLD 20 is a smidge too big for round these parts...can't comment on the other reel

tld 15 would be my choice thou my lever drag spring went after only a couple of months worth of boat trips.

I got mine new for £68 off the net.

The TLD15 has a huge capacity for braid and is big enough for our waters. Another alternative is the Penn 320LD. I use both reels and find them as good as each other.

ive got the tyranos 20 which is a bit of a beast - yes a bit big for our water but the speed etc is excellent.

Weather not great, it will be a fast drift all day but should still be fishable.

i'll have a go of it if thats ok richy, i prefer to test any rods or reels before i go and buy one.
