just watched the first half of it (full eclipse) - isnt the natural world awsome

might watch it light up again ,but the sky getting darker and darker was somthing special - saying as i sat in the garden with my 10 year old daughter explaining what was going on

Sweet - VERY Sweet - dont know when the next one is ,but at least i have something very special to take to my wooden shute

Been out for ages ,it's fantastic to see nature at its best ,I'm amazed that the cloud cover has been so slight , that makes such a change .

not as good as I'd hoped! trying to track a moving target with 12 second exposure:

10 -15 mins to go before it starts lighting up again ........shame really, it looks so awsome and real as it is .... it`s like a planet in it`s own right

whoa ... here it comes back ............ WOW

it makes you feel a bit .... humble ....................... to say the least

Cracking picture Mark, what did you take that with mate.

Jim.

a camera!!!!

nikon D50, 300mm lens, stuck it on the tripod from my telescope so I could track it as it moves quite fast when you're zoomed right in - thats was the hard bit!

just checking my charty thing, the star on the left looks blue enough to be neptune maybe??

I was lucky enough to see a 98% Eclipse of the sun. I'm sure it was during Diwallhi the Hindu type christmas, very early in the morning on a boat in the middle of the Ganges at Varanasi / Banares one of the holiest places on the river. A weird long nosed fresh water dolphin was splashing round us and a pack of dogs were munching on a corpse on the far bank. A couple of chillums had also done the rounds. It was amazing. A couple of ultra hippies with us decided to immerse themselves in the holy water and lept into this toxic porridge. Never found out which disease they eventually died of!

I missed tonight's spectacle though as I was having a drink

Just realised it's still on and had a look, cuddled the missus and marvelled. It's great to feel small and insignificant innit. :)

LOL ell insignificant is the word ...........

looks better every minute....

about 40% relight at the mo ............. exceptional !

a camera!!!!

Hahahahahaha I knew when I made the post what I would get lol.

Didn't notice the blue one till you mentioned it, would be interesting to find out though.

Just came back in after having a look, was a bit late as it was showing about a quarter, didn't hear a thing about it or I would have been out a lot earlier.
