after reading coddys report, it's got me thinking about taking the boat over for a few days fishing, i've spoken to a few people with trailered boats and there seems to be a bit of interest in doing it, probably not this ""summer" tho

anyone got any info or done it before ? places to stay ? when's the best time to do it etc, or anyone fancy doing it aswell ?

oh...and any decent boozers ? :D

Had my honeymoon up on lock sunart :D

Managed to hire a boat and get out for the day like

Lovely place, apparently had been hit hard by the long liners just before we got there tho.

I think there has been a few lads from NESA up that way, my mate has a static on Sunart, i forget the name of the place now.. they hire boats for people who want to go and not tow and caravans for hire i think.

this would let you leave the boat in the water etc.
mind you its a canny trip up.

Salen Jetty-Salen Bay Loch Sunart-Ardnamurchan in Argyll West Scotland. 8 Visitor Pontoon Berths and 4 Visitor Moorings in the Bay

If you want closer to home look at the isle of whithorn..... they sell ya favorite tennants larger and "Wreck the hoose juice" Buckfast....if ya manage to get off the grass and into the boat ya might come across some sober tope and bass around that area.

can't wait for the "Star Trek Expedition" reports, oh... try and mention a bit of fishing in them !! leave the silver latex mankini you'll get goose pimples, it gets cold.

there's a report on another site, with a bloke from down south in a yak, into skate in Sunart area....., crackers........ mint report and video on it tho.
not for me.................

Use to go with the boat in the 80's to Wigbay caravan park on the west shore of loch Ryan. Could launch on a massive concrete ramp they use to launch sea planes in ww2. nip across to Cainryan breakers yard and fish for conga, or launch at Lady bay near the head of the Loch for plaice, thornies, tope, cod, smoothies, the list goes on and on. Then there is Dally bay round by the Corswell light house for all of the same species. A 4wd needed for the last to places, one being enough just to launch and recover. Great days.
