Can anyone recommend a good multiplier reel for sea fishing? Abu or diawa?

Penn 525 mag is one of the best reels about. Cast great and have a good retrieve also good for lifting fish.what more can you ask for.

You can't go wrong with daiwa mate, they make cracking reels.

Penn 525 top all rounder
Fathom 15 is me next buy got money in bedside cabinet got good write up sea angler this month sounds like solid little reel swayed me from getting another 525 anyway

Cheers lads heard good reports on the Penn 525 and the Abu 6500, ultimate multiplier meant to be the diawa. It's a hard choice just have to try them, mainly use a fixed spool but me mate said I had a good long cast so thinks a good multiplier would be better.

for me3 its gotta be the penn mag the work and hammering they have taken over the years, i think any other reel would be discarded
to look at my reels you would think they are knackered but the insides are pretty pretty good and run, well there good enough for m e

i have all 3 .the daiwa slosh 30( 2 of em ) the 525 supermag and the abu6500 ambassaduer ct mag . all have their merits. the best all rounder tho if i had to choose just one FOR GENERAL FISHING will be the penn 525.
....if u fish only clean beaches and wanna go distance the abu will be better but if u do mixed ground etc...then go for the 525 mag . next on my list is an avet tho must get me one of them ....hope this helps ...

I have a few of both reels and love the Abu for distance but as an all rounder it has to be the 525 (old model) my mate on here bought the new model 525 and it's crap compared to the old ones, look for a good second one instead of new.

Have you looked at the Akios reels?
That's my next one they're a cracking reel

It's looking like the Penn mag is the one, usually fish mixed ground so the Penn seems a good allrounder. Cheers for the advice lads.

Buy a abu 6500ct mag and a pen525 mag second hand and you will have the best of both worlds!!! and will only cost the same as a new reel.
