Been to a few spots round here for a bit bait for the winter but all there has been is lots of small muscle would anyone be willing to point me int the right direction for some bigger ones I only want 2 buckets worth willing to travel or if anyone who can get them at the fish quay to buy????

I'm trying to cut the costs it's 40-50 quid in a season cod unlike using muscle but if I get a couple of buckets and it only costs a 10a diesel it's worth the saving

mate and i went to sand point this morning, up to now i have shelled 2/3ds of them and have got 13 pkts made up now, got bout 80 left to shell tonight, try there still a couple of tides worth doing

I like to shell mine in a tub rather than individual packets..

unlike other baits the more its defrosted and re froze it gets better. Never smells bad and if anything smells fresher strange but true... i just drain off excess water.. quality bait! And the way i do it i think is better.

im shure the gear the tackle shops sell is par boiled for easier shelling.
hardly any scent to it.

they have the same shape as cooked mussel aswell unlike the snotty appearence of fresh shelled.

Or maybe the lads who shell them know how to do it properly
