Hi guys,

just wondering what experiences you ahve had using mussel as bait? I have taken a few coddies on a big pile of mussel straight after some rough weather but otherwise find it a bit hitty missy....

What other baits would you recommend over the autumn / winter months. I tend to use black lug, mussel, rag and maccy (find crab hitty missy aswell and tooo expensive not to be hitty!!)

Cheese :D

Hi mate, crab, mussel, and bluey for me over rough ground. Lug,yellows, and ragworm over the cleaner ground. They my main baits although do occasionaly try other stuff but without much success. Have had results off just mussel usually after similar conditions you describe above.

Aye I did wonder, suppose if the fish are hungry they will eat owt.... a bit like me! :o

Worms for cleaner ground, shellfish for rocks..... thats why I always get confused wiht Shields pier being a mixed ground mark ;)
