im not sure of any marks on the open coast like for mussels between ur locations...but in the river tyne holds sum bait collecting places like.

If ya looking for mussel head abit further alang the coast north,toward blyth ,go through blyth. past cemetery towards car wash on the right ,take a right there, follow the road right to the bottom ,and look for the boats moored opp the boat yard climb down the wall ,and you have all the mussel ya want ,go when the tides out mind
