My first wrasse (I think)

As much as I enjoy the sport I also fish so I can eat what I catch. This was my first wrasse so posted on here just to check if it is edible. If it tastes like crap I will put them back in future, I checked the minimum size limit and the app I used told me it was 25cm and this fish was over double that so figured as there was a minimum size on the app that I could probably eat it. I'm not particularly well off and fishing is quite expensive. After 4 weeks of drawing blanks the wife was complaining of not bringing any fish in so when I reeled this in there was no way I was putting it back. Sorry if people dont agree with my reasons but thats the way it is. My previous biggest fish was only about 2 1/2 lb and this wrasse weighed over 4lb (on my dodgy spring scales), so was a tad excited when I brought it in.......

Well done on your catch as I mentioned previously and yes I am like yourself I like to eat what I catch I killed 2 dogfish once just to try them and can say it was a lovely fish to eat even though its like a rat of the sea on the west coast and I did feel guilty doing it but it was nice
Can I ask what was the wrasse like to eat ???
Cheers

Personal choice really wether it tastes like crap or not the lad might still want to eat it. If its not protected why not keep it. Great wrasse mate well done

In a way I'm kinda hoping it tastes like crap because if it tastes good and I tell everyone on here its lovely tasting I will probably get lynched lol
