Hi Dave
photos up properly now, lighter bow is made of offcuts, I had a thin bit of ash and bamboo so glued them together and put some pitch pine down the side for a bit of thickness, making sure got grain right. The second one is all ash ash with teak and pitch pine handle.
Can't get yew in uk for love nore money, and hickory and lemon wood very expensive. Made these for the grandkids and their archery although a guy wants the stronger bow.

Good job Alan , look great . My son is in charge of the council tree department and I asked him to get some yew branches for my mate ( naive me ☺️) , most have preservation orders on them and are very rarely chopped down , almost impossible to obtain . Let's hope the French don't start again 😊

yea can't cut yew trees down in uk, but if French start again they might have to change their
minds

Incredible craftsmanship Alan, so impressive!!!

cheers Dave
working on a flat bow at the minute, looks quite nice, a few finishing touches a couple of coats of linseed oil and a bow string, making that at weekend at caravan, and that should be that, oh yes then get somebody to test it
