This will be my first attempt at yak fishing properly, i have all the gear i need bar a fish finder, (Saving up :D) and if any of the local lads could help me out regarding spots, or even allow me to join them it would be greatly appreciated :D

Cheers Lads,

Dean.

Top move :D

Where did you source it ?

The only thing stopping me is that I drive a small car and I'm trying to work out a safe mode of transport before pulling the trigger.

Best of luck and be safe :)

you lucky lad - am after one too - although figuring I need about £1200 to get onthe water.

Where did you get that from?

PM me - I really wanna get into this

This was 400 quid fully kitted rod holders, carbon paddle, life jacket, wheels :)

Can't go wrong for that price :) nothing wrong with it, few scratches but it's to be expected :) you want kyacks? Go to anglers afloat, lots for sale on there ATM great prices too :)

Have fun. I used to canoe off the Headland when i was in the Boys Brigade years ago and it was excellent. I can imagine fishing in a kayak you would not need to that far out especially over rough ground.
Mick.

Some good marks at cambois not far out had nice fish near the wind mills there. thas alsoa wreck or wat used to be a wreck mainly just steel plates not to far from blyth pier

i,m sure you will do well dean if it is anything to do with your adventures over the west you,ve had some cracking fish looking forward to your reports but stay safe mate tight lines regards stan

Nice yak! Sure you will have some cracking catches from it.
IMHO handheld gps wil suffice instead of a fishfinder. Punch in wreck co ords and away you go, also record any area you catch fish on! fish on the drift over hard ground (pot markers are generally over rough) and bobs ya uncle, also try and get out with others for a while, before heading out alone.:)
