MYSTERY TRANNY WORM

Can any one please answer this question: When I am digging Lugworm I often dig up a type of worm I am not familiar with. The best way I can describe is a cross between a common ragworm & a white ragworm, but these seem to be much more delicate and quite \'limp\'compared to these. Also they are a mixture of white and orange or sometimes totaly rust coloured.
I have always discarded them, but some are quite a good hook size and I am interested to know if they are any good for bait and if so, what is the best method of keeping them?
Sorry if my description isn\'t that specific, but I was tried to make a picture of one using my scanner.....Unfortunately when I closed the scanner lid !!!!!!!

I am familiar with these worms which used to be very common near the boat station at Whitley Bay. I once caught some codling from there during a big sea and they were absolutely stuffed with them. I should imagine they would catch cod if tied to the hook in a ball as they are too delicate to withstand threadding and casting.
