NESA Species Hunt 2012

Scotty 91 - as said above, this is a shore fishing challenge so no boats/kayaks etc. It's in the rules on the first post.

Scottyds - 3 bearded rockling it is, you are on the table.

Lads if you could type the species when you post your pics please as it is not always clear.

think the 5 bearded is less popular on our shore so i think either shud be classed as just a rockling cos some photo,s ya carnt tell unless its a close up ;)
 
Two more for me. A flounder and the smallest codling in Shields.

just wondering can you enter a hagfish in this hunt. because I've been doing the bsa hunt and they wont let me enter it

you and your bloody hagfish :) and for what its worth check the record fish lists and then say its a sea fish :)

its comes under lamprey a animal species that pre exist fish .... :)
 
your rocklings a five bearded lads,google three bearded rockling and you will see its a completely different colour more orange and speckled ...
 
lol pleased i aint that bothered about it that much arguements about a fish but if i do get out a might take a pic with the card what i catch welldone to the lad and hes ideas (thunderpants) thats putting his time into it its all a bit fun ;)

All rocklings can have same colour, its been shown time and time again, I've has 3 bearded AND five bearded rockling that have been completely dark brown with a pale underbelly, they looked almost the same, the only difference was the amount of 'beards' they had...

you wont get a completely brown 3 bearded rockling mate they just dont come that colour,three beardeds are usually much larger and mottled,but no doubt some will argue the toss but i can only try to help theres very few three beards come of the NE coast anyhow but im sure someone would disagree with that as well ....
