NESA Tyne Challenge Trophy.

I thought I would post this in here as some people never make it out of the Shore Fishing area.

On the 21st of February is our annual north versus south competition. This is the fourth year it has been run since TC first thought of it and it is a very popular comp. There are no big prizes, it is for the bragging rights for 2009 to give the losing team some good hearted banter. The Trophy is currently held by the captain of the north Team, Stores. They took the trophy last year from the south team, who had held the trophy for the first two years and is captained by Sless. No doubt David will be getting some elbow grease to work and polishing the trophy up ready to present it to Graham (sless) after the comp :D :D :D

It is always a good night and the chance to make new friends and also learn to fish a new mark. Get your names down and help your team whichever it is to win. We have had a lot of new members recently and quite a few just returning to fishing after a long lay off. A perfect chance to learn new techniques, find out about different rigs and even perhaps catch a fish to help your team win. I post something like this at almost every comp and we always get a few new people along and always get reports of how much they enjoyed it.

If you are new to fishing and a bit shy, don't worry about it. Turn up, let your captain know you don't know the area and someone will look after you for the night and point you in the right direction. If you are from north of the Tyne see David and if you are from south of the Tyne see Graham. It should be (as always) a very good night and best of luck to both teams.

Jim.

Come on lads don't be shy this really is an excellent event. I fished it for the first time last year and really enjoyed it. It doesn't cost to enter unless you opt for the optional H/F H/B. If any of the lads need advice there are plenty veterans there to lend a hand. It's a very friendly event and it's always nice to put faces to names. As Jim said if you don't know any marks just speak up and the lads (myself included) will let you tag along. Just go into TYNE CHALLENGE TROPHY section on the forum and put your name down for your team. People who live North of the Tyne go into the North team and the South like wise.

Hope to see a lot of new faces.

Sean

Agree - great event...forum meets are always a great way to meet new peeps and fish spots you wouldn't ordinarily fish...get your names down folks :D

...and Rockling are allowed for the more advanced Anglers among us ;)

Ahh would like to make it this year but other plans for 21st.

Good luck to all that takes part, maybe next time.

Come on the South Team :)

If anyone from the north side is thinking about fishing it but is stuffed for transport, give me a PM as I'll have room in the buggy for one more! (I'll be coming down from Blyth).

Just got to sort out my innoculations & passport for the trip:D:D:D

Gary :)

Aye, suppose it wouldn't do to pass on the Fishing Pox (currently flares up 3 or 4 times a week), Zzipplexlexia, a particularly rotten bottom and certainly don't want anyone getting any of my crabs :D:D:D
