New 525mag 2

Bought new mag 525mag 2 had dozen hoys wid , going great, but do i take side plate off and clean the grease out ? and if so wat dis entail ,just weary incase out pops out, av taken other reels to bits ,sloshes, abu,penn535,any help lads thanks.:question:

Got no problems with these reels mate,after every sesh I just wash off any salt under the cold tap then dry off.
Then every month I open up the reel clean and oil no probs.

There's nothing will jump out at you when you take end plate off.

I hate Abu's for that reason. Everytime i take a abu apart ping, let the jigsaw begin

Yeah mate, 525's are like Ak47's, theres really nothing to them, but thats what makes them good. Everything is held in so when you take the plate of nothing should drop off or ping.

the new 525'2 reels are good reels.

i wouldnt recommend removing the grease as long as its not contaminating the bearings.

the reel has four bearings, two which are important for casting situated either end of the spindle. these are what needs regular oiling as mentioned.
makes all the difference.

although the handle and gear lever are the achilles heel. watch out, they snap easily.

my two new 525'2 reels have 'made in usa' handles and levers.

cannot beat the old made in usa ones i wreckon
