Anybody had experience of the IP 16 ? its a long keel displacement type with bilge keels, just bought one and wondering what its going to perform like

Hi Mike,

I take it\'s the Island Plastics 16ft ? . I looked at the IP24 a couple of years ago and their reputation was very good . With its displacement characteristics it should make about 5/6knots , and with the bilge keel it will take a drying out mooring as well . What engine have you got in her ?

I have the choice of 3 engines , merc 9.9, suzuki 14 or a yamaha 16 as main with a seagull 6hp 102+ as reserve , should put it well within displacement hull speed.

I know a lot of guys with the IP 24/27s and they roll like pigs they have tried keel extensions and the like and still dont work,wouldnt have one. the 16 might be different.
