Saw the mentions in the Northumberland Gazette and the Chronicle regarding the new fishery opening at Thrunton on April 5th. Looking forward to giving it a go.

Cheers.

That looks like a nice place. Forgive my ignorance but I don't understand their prices for catch and release? Why have a time limit and a fish limit? Does that mean for a 2 hour C&R ticket, if you catch 6 Fish in 30mins you need to stop fishing? It's probably me being thick.....or is this a standard practice to protect potentially damaging the stock?

No its not you being thick mate, if you catch 6 fish in six casts then in theory thats your session ended.
That could only be enforced if someone was watching you and counting.
They need to have a look at their times and prices otherwise i dont think it will compete with other lakes.
Closing at 5.30 will put folk off also.

Must admit that I didnt notice the early closing time ! Thats going to have to be changed otherwise they will lose business.

Cheers.

new

new

had a run passed there yesterday the place was not ready so i could not go in but what i could see from the road was the pond was small on the website it looks like a loch

they need to change the opening times as a lot of anglers like to fish an evening rise. not going to happen if it is going to close at 5.30pm.
some lads like to go after a day a work for a few hours most trout lakes close at dusk.
think after a few weeks they will have to change to summer times and winter times opening to complete with other trout lakes.
looks a nice place and the prices are ok.
