New led bulbs to convert petz head torch

Mines has sat unused for years. Hard to get the batteries. I'd be interested to know how the led conversion would compare to a modern lamp for battery life.

used my zoom and cree today to help mate fix brakes on a car. cree wins no doubt the zoom battery died pretty quickly . i get my 3lr12 off ebay for £2.29 delivered

I have two petzle zooms, put the 1watt cree ungrade bulbs in and they are mint, I use three AA standard batteries in the adapter. bought the bulbs from the same site, last year,'The Torch site,' I also changed the halogen bulb in my Petzle Duo with another 1watt cree, and thats also brill. I would definately recomend them for use in the old petzle zoom's if anyone has them lying about.

I Put new cree 1 watt upgrade bulbs into two old Petzle Zoom headlights, put one on spot/main beam,and the other on general, Left them both on without a break, since yesterday to test battery life, using normal AA batteries, two sets of three, in the adapter. They have been on for 24hrs solid/none stop, and are still as bright as when I switched them on yesterday.they are brill, and have fantastic battery life.
