Hi there, I am a new member and I have been using this brilliant site daily for the past few months and I thought it was about time I said hello. This is a brilliant site for information so it is time I started contributing instead of just leeching.
I am a new member to the site but I am not new to fishing, I lived and breathed fishing around Whitehaven 36 years ago from age 14 to about 20, back then if I was not fishing I was digging bait, I lived on the piers. Now at the age of 51 I have restarted again where I left off after many years of not fishing so I am getting up to speed again. I have been fishing the past 4 months around Roker, Hendon Prom (too many times !) , Whitburn, Marsden and the Walkway. Now I can not get enough fishing in and cant understand why I did not fish for so many years ! I am Getting my share of fish but all the usual small stuff so far, (size coddy coming soon, watch this space).
You will probably know me when you see me, I am the one still using the old ABU 484 Atlantic Zoom and 9000C and 7000 from 1976 and still going strong (at least the reels are, I just replaced the rod with another identical from Ebay while I replace the rings on my original rod to get it back into action).
Great site, happy to be part of it, watch this space for posts.

Yes welcome.Im also a new member and have found everyone one here very helpfull. Look after your gear however old it is and it will no doubt still catch fish.
So far I've got rid of a rod and got a cracking new reel thanks to people on nesa.
