Greys Platinum GSI is also in the same bracket...love mine, sensitive bite detection but handles like a Ron Thompson in the power stakes

if you want a quality rod at the right price get a century i use a kompressor ss with the reel down its fine week after week. theres plenty of cheap rods out there aswell which seem ok but how long will it last i dont know. good luck ...

the best advice I can give and what I always tell anyone who is after a rod, the only way to fiind out what suits you is by trying them yourself, what suits one person may not suit another. Get your bus pass out and go round the tackle shops and get them in your hands.

i agree with charlton mate best way to find a rod which suits you is to go and try them tackle dealers dont mind you trying rods as they understand the importance of having the right rod for yourself. ive got a greys mk2 apollo, reelsport response made by Terry Woods (best rod ive been let loose with so far) and a shakespear atlantis which is a cheap rod which still does what i want it too.

I have the Greys Platinum XS and the Century CCC and in my opinion you should go for the CCC. It's a fantastic all round rod that will suit any occasion but the only problem is that I think that Century may have stopped making them.

went shopping about,ive used century rods for years,even when i left shore fishing,went onto carp,have been good rods,ive opted for a tip tornado sport,i like the feel,hope to get it for friday,will be out friday night.
