:question:Hello lads i'm after a bit of advice, I'm currently using an IMAX 6 stroke 7 with a SLOSH 30
I'm going to be buying a second rod in the near future and was wondering if any one has any feed back about the ron thompson xcellarator 4-8oz rod?
I've phoned round a few tackle shops to try and get another imax 6-7 but have been told that there obselete now and cant get hold of one. I havent got a big budget only £150 and would like another stiff rod as i normally fish heavy ground or rock marks.
Any info or advice would be greatly welcomed cheers.

i have two of them rods and for the money they cost i think they are really worth it cant fault the xcellarator at all infact i was thinking about buying a 3rd just as a spare :)

if your buying brand new:

Ron Thomson
Sonik SK3
Shimano Beastmaster
Anyfish Anywhere bait and 6

are the best of the mid priced rods.

or you could get a high end second hand rod?

I was in billys earlier.. mark 2 apollo for £120, Conoflex Enigma (cracking rod) £120 - ID Fishing had a second hand SK3 in.. dunno the price of it...

or the lads on here have some good stuff for sale - keep an eye out.

Some good advice there as always. Another good idea is to see what your mates are using and have a try of their gear, as has been said on here lots of times, what will suit one won't suit another. I have only had one rod I couldn't use but it can happen.
