New Rod

Hi Guys, thinking on a new rough ground rod, I have narrowed it down to 3 rods, w300, komp ss, or a reel sport response,
i am looking for feedback on the w300 and SS really, I am looking at the SS as it is slightly longer than the w300, I have been looking at a second hand response, these get great reviews. I currently use a AFAW clubman plus but want something a little stiffer. any feed back would be appreciated, also what reel choices are people using with these rods,
cheers

I've used a wr300 for a couple of years now and I love the rod. It is poker stiff though but I use it mainly for heavy ground for which it is the business and it will launch a lead with two clipped down baits as far as your capable of. The bite detection is brilliant too. As for the ss i've heard a lot of bad reports about them while others rave about them but I do know a friend of mine tried one out who's a bit of a tackle tart and he didn't rate it at all. I have tried a response and would give it a swerve it you want a heavy ground rod imho.
Forgot to mention reels, I use slosh 30's and 525 mags with mine.
Hope this is of use.
Cheers
Nick

i love the wr300, it casts like a dream will pull the plug out the ocean. bit over kill for flatty bashing but a cool rough ground rod

save your self some money and buy a rt axellorator just as good if not better than the other two

not quite,, i had a RT axellorator it was like a broom shank, have a Responce now, Its a far far superior rod in all areas.

Get the responce Andy you will not be disapointed.

ive got an ss m8 and there a realy gud rod excellent for ruff ground god stiff rod excellent for our coast ... recomended 10/10

.

.

SS cant fault it ..... ppl slag it off but each to their own .... dont go off other ppl slagging it off who have never used one !

if you want to save a bit of cash, lewis tackle shop in whitley bay has a used wr300 and a ttr for sale, might save a few quid buying second hand, they look in good condition as well

also andy he has been getting alot of interest in those rods so if you are after good used ones then give him a bell before you miss out

iv got a ss mate its the rod for rough groud like bit stiff at 1st but once you have had it out a few times it casts like a goodun it will pull a boat in with a 525mag on it lolololol

I use wr300 all the time and love it but then again I've never used the SS so this reply is probably useless information for you but I'm posting it anyway.

My tools of choice the kompressor ss with a penn 525 extra spot on for our coast never had any problems with my ss so that's my recommendation

carn't fault the ss tbh, but i did have to put a good few hours in on the field before i understood the rod, didn't really like it at first, if you get one give it time there a great rod

My mate rockhopper has a wr300.he's totally abused it,but its still in good working order. They reckon the 13ft is a lot stiffer than the 14ft?.I prefer the 13ft apollo, have used it in summer for flatties, smooth hounds etc And on the rocks at whitburn over the winter, can't fault it.
